JEFF TALK 7 PM THURSDAY, OCT. 21, 2021 -- Time to Investigate JPSO?

The Jefferson Parish Democratic Executive Committee will host “Use of Force by JPSO – as Simple as Black and White?” – at 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, via Facebook livestream. Guests will include activist Michelle Charles, attorney and secretary of the Algiers-Gretna NAACP branch; civil rights attorney Peyton Bowman; and Alicia Dardar, a restaurant owner who took video of Sojourner Gibbs’ rough treatment by JPSO deputies. Up for discussion: whether JPSO practices racial profiling, its transparency – or lack of it – as JPSO investigates deputies’ actions, the disproportionate deaths of black men at the hands of deputies, whether JPSO should be investigated by the Department of Justice, and more. To be notified before the event starts and join the discussion, please like the Jeff Dems’ Facebook page at https://tinyurl.com/JPDECfacebook. Like us, share, and be sure to tune in at 7 p.m. Thursday.
