JPDEC Re-Elects Chair Trey Mustian, Other Officers

The Jefferson Parish Democratic Executive Committee on July 20 unanimously re-elected Trey Mustian to his third one-year term as chair.

Members of the committee, meeting in open session, also unanimously re-elected these officers: 1st Vice Chair Jeanne McGlory, 2nd Vice Chair Paul Anger, 3rd Vice Chair Ray Delaney Jr., Secretary Peter Brigandi Jr., Treasurer Dwan Hilferty and Parliamentarian Derrick Shepherd. Ron Brown was unanimously elected sergeant-at-arms, replacing Michael Davis, who stepped down from the position.

Mustian cited significant accomplishments in raising the profile of JPDEC in the past year, including the launch of issues-oriented Facebook Live events called Jeff Talks — plus energetic work done on candidate endorsements, public relations, voter engagement and public policy priorities. However, he also stressed that much work remains to reach JPDEC’s ultimate goal — consistently electing Democrats in Jefferson Parish.

“We must continue to expand our work in voter registration and turnout,” Mustian said. “These are keys to our mission. I am excited about the initiatives we have begun and look forward to seeing them through to success.”
