Jefferson Parish Democrats Endorse Jewett, Romar for School Board

The Jefferson Parish Democratic Executive Committee has endorsed two Democrats running for the Jefferson Parish School Board – Lauren Jewett of Metairie in District 6 and Miguel Romar of Gretna in District 1.

Both Jewett and Romar are active teachers and eminently qualified to serve the best interests of students, teachers and parents alike. Both face Republican opponents for the Nov. 8 primary election; early voting begins Oct. 25.

Jewett is a nationally board-certified special education teacher with 13 years of experience in public and charter schools in the New Orleans area. She currently is a special ed teacher/case manager and master teacher at KIPP Morial Primary School in New Orleans. For more, visit https://www.laurenjewett.com.  

Romar is a highly rated professor at Delgado Community College. She holds a master’s degree in Education Counseling from Xavier University and currently teaches in the College of Career and Success Skills at Delgado.
