JPDEC INSTALLS OFFICERS, RECOMMENDS DUSTIN GRANGER FOR STATE TREASURER

The Jefferson Parish Democratic Executive Committee (JPDEC) held a swearing-in for 2023-24 officers Tuesday night at the IBEW Local 130 Union Hall.

The officers are: Chair James C. Simmons Jr., 1st Vice Chair Raven Lyons, 2nd Vice Chair Paul Anger, 3rd Vice Chair Michael Flowers, Secretary Peter R. Brigandi Jr., Treasurer Dwan Hilferty, Parliamentarian Ronald Brown Jr. and Sergeant-at-Arms Brandon Trudeaux.

JPDEC also voted unanimously to recommend Dustin Granger of Lake Charles for state treasurer. Granger’s priorities include making more state investments in alternative energy, if the return on investment is better for Louisianans, and moving away from heavily favoring oil and gas investments.

JPDEC previously recommended former State Secretary of Transportation Shawn Wilson for governor. More recommendations and endorsements will follow later this month.
