2 MORE CANDIDATES ADDED TO ENDORSEMENT MEETING

The Jefferson Parish Democratic Executive Committee has added two more candidates to be interviewed at JPDEC’s special in-person endorsement meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church Multipurpose Center, 1006 Pailet Ave. in Harvey.

Jefferson Parish District 3 incumbent Councilman Byron Lee and state House District 105 incumbent Mack Cormier have confirmed their participation. They will join:

++ State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education – Lauren Jewett.

++ State Senate District 9 – Mary Anne Mushatt.

++ State Senate District 19 – Marilyn Bellock.

++ State House District 83 – Kyle M. Green, Jr.

++ State House District 85 – Andrea Manuel.

++ State House District 87 – Rodney Lyons, Sr.

The meeting is open to the public and the media, and candidates will answer questions from JPDEC members as well as make statements.

JPDEC will decide on endorsements in executive session after the public meeting is concluded. The endorsements will be announced on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
