JPDEC RECOMMENDS COLLINS-GREENUP, JONES, CHEEK 9-19-23

          The Jefferson Parish Democratic Executive Committee (JPDEC) met Tuesday night to consider candidates running for three statewide offices – attorney general, secretary of state and lieutenant governor.

          Candidates recommended by JPDEC:

          ++ Gwen Collins-Greenup of Baton Rouge for Louisiana secretary of state.

          ++ Willie Jones of New Orleans for Louisiana lieutenant governor.

          ++ Lindsey Cheek of New Orleans for Louisiana attorney general.

          Candidates endorsed (local office) or recommended (state-level office) by JPDEC require a two-thirds majority of members voting.  

Jefferson Parish Democrats previously recommended Shawn Wilson for governor, Dustin Granger for state treasurer, and Lauren Jewett for State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, District 1.
