JPDEC Endorses Gary Carter Jr. for State Senate District 7

The Jefferson Parish Democratic Executive Committee voted in open session Tuesday, May 18, to endorse State Rep. Gary Carter Jr. (D-Dist. 102) for the vacant State Senate District 7 seat. The vacancy was created when former State Sen. Troy Carter — Gary Carter’s uncle — was elected to Congress. Gary Carter offers a rock-solid voting record on core Democratic issues, combined with a willingness to reach across the aisle on issues of local concern when the betterment of his constituents is at stake. Primary election day is June 12, and early voting will be held 8:30a.m.-6 p.m. from Friday, May 28, through Saturday, June 5 (excluding May 30-31) at the Yenni Building, 1221 Elmwood Park Blvd., Room 502, Harahan; the Odom Building, 5001 West Bank Expressway, Suite C-2, Marrero; and 408 Minor St., Kenner.
